Hard to train dog breeds

Experts say that there is a difference between dog breeds in terms of how easy, or better yet, how difficult they are to train. According to Cheatsheet.com, here are TOP 5 dog breeds that are a bit more hard to train:

  1. Afghan hound - a faithful and lovable dog, but will pose a big challenge in the training department. It is characterized as an independent thinker and a bit aloof, so we can say those characteristics make training difficult.
  2. Basenji - training is essential with this breed. Basenji may know perfectly well all the commands you teach him, but he may not want to perform them.
  3. Basset hound - notoriously stubborn dog that is hard to train, especially to an inexperienced dog trainer. Experts recommend being very patient in training this breed.
  4. Beagle - they are a challenge to train. They can have a naughty streak and can be difficult for dog trainers. They are known for their independent nature, which is common among hounds.
  5. Bloodhound -  good-natured dog, but a bit stubborn. It is important to start training early and to be consistent. You can train your bloodhound very well, but they may not be as obedient as you want them to be.

Keep in mind that even if your dog comes from one of these breeds, that doesn't mean that you can give up training. Practice makes perfect!
